Placer County Court 2024 Updates and Needs

We start the new year off with an update to Probate and Estate Planning practice with a presentation from Ryan Bowen, Senior Research Attorney for the Placer County Superior Court, and Elise Baker of Placer Law Group APC. There have been changes and this is a great opportunity to find out and discuss those changes you will face this coming year.
Ryan Bowen joined the Office of Legal Research at the Placer County Superior Court in 2009 and previously served the Sacramento County Superior Court and the Fourth Judicial Court of Utah in similar roles. He had a general civil practice for several years and taught at the former Bryan College of Sacramento. He has been a member of the Judicial Council Center for Judicial Education and Research Probate Law Curriculum Committee since 2018, participating in judicial branch training throughout California. He has presented on probate related topics for many groups in California. He graduated cum laude from the J. Reuben Clark Law School where he was a teaching assistant and a staff editor of the BYU Law Review.
Elise Baker is the owner of Placer Law Group, APC, a certified specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law, a certified executive coach, and a musician. Passionate about serving the community, Elise created the South Placer Estate Planning Council, is a past chair of the Placer County Bar Association Probate and Estate Planning Section, and currently serves on the board of directors of the Placer Community Foundation. Elise is a regular participant in Skip’s Music’s Weekend Warriors Program, which had its most recent showcase at the Boardwalk in Orangevale earlier this month.
Elise has served as court appointed counsel and guardian ad litem in conservatorships for several years and is currently on the panels for Placer and Sacramento Counties. Elise has created office procedures and templates for these appointments, including court reports and fee petitions. Elise will talk about how court appointments work from the practitioner side

This video conference will provide one hour MCLE credit or one hour specialty credit.
Cost is $25 for PCBA PEP section members and $35 for PCBA non-section members or non PCBA members. Space is limited so be sure to sign-up early.
